Time for Task Cards!

And the winner is....Heather from Hojo's Teaching Adventure!
Contrats to Heather who will be receiving an email about how to collect her prize. Even if you didn't win the task cards, hopefully you did gain some page views and followers. I am so appreciative to each and every one of you who wrote a post and I will continue to promote all of your posts directly from your websites (and I will also leave this post up).

Do you want to:
  • Get more traffic/followers to your blog?
  • Have a chance at winning 25 sets of task cards to use with your students?
  • Share the joy and wonder of task cards with your online colleagues?
Then you won't want to miss this terrific opportunity. In a nutshell: write blog post about using task cards with your students and link it up back here on Minds in Bloom. Here is how this will ultimately benefit you as well as a whole bunch of other folks:

Traffic to your blog
I will heavily promote not only this link up (once there are a few contributors), but also each individual post. That will bring more traffic, and hopefully followers, for you. Currently, Minds in Bloom gets about 10,000 page views a day. I have nearly 34,000 Pinterest followers and over 8,000 Facebook followers as well as a monthly newsletter. Other contributors will also be bringing viewers back to this link up through their own blogs and networks, and then to you! That is a lot of chances for people to see your post.

Win 25 sets of task cards
On May 1, 2013, I will use a random generator to select one contributor to the link up to win 25 task cards of his or her choice from my store (or if the winner is too busy to select, I will select given grade level and subjects desired). Since this opportunity takes some effort, I am not expecting a ton of folks to enter, so if you participate, you will probably have a pretty good shot a winning.

Sharing with colleagues
If you use task cards, you know what an amazing resource they are. Your post could have a real impact on teachers and students....saving them time, making learning fun, and helping them succeed on those dreaded standardized test. If you are new to task cards, you can still participate! Grab a set of free task cards and check out Totally Task Cards or this post for some ideas on how to use them.

Ideas for posts
Not sure what to write about? Try one of these topics:
  • A specific way you use task cards, such as at a center or with a game
  • Your own twist on a well-known game such as Scoot.
  • How you get your cards ready to use - laminating and such
  • How you store your task cards and keep them organized
  • A favorite set - why you like it and how you use it
  • A list of tips for using task cards
  • A funny, touching, or compelling story that came from using task cards
  • A particularly successful task card lesson
  • Your experience using task cards for the first time
